If you feel convinced or inspired about our endeavours to create alternative income sources for subsistence-farmers, to reduce poaching in natural forest areas and to conserve local biodiversity, we would highly appreciate your contribution. Although we still need to fill the financial gap for our upcoming investments, your support does not have to be monetary. Spreading the word, volunteering at our breathtaking field site at Kibale Forest National Park, or offering skills, services or advice are just a few ways you can contribute.
To put financial offerings into some context, we’ve outlined the costs of relevant outgoings below. Materials and wages in Uganda are not comparable to familiar (European) standards and thus also small donations can make a huge difference:
€10 finances over a dozen seedlings of trees that serve as bee-forage
€20 enables us to buy local wood and manufacture a beehive
€30 supports the four-day beekeeping training course for one new farmer
€50 pays the monthly wage of one of our part-time area managers and ensure superb honey quality as well as professional progress of up to ten farmers
€400 covers a complete apiary package – hives, tools, gear, management and training – for one new farmer
€400 will cover the entire running costs of the project for a month
Perhaps most pressingly, a €25 donation can provide enough pizza to keep the entire Isunga team happy for about fifteen minutes
